Section 01
Introduction
Equality in Islamic marriage is often misunderstood on both ends. Some assume Islam gives the husband complete authority and the wife total obedience. Others argue that only identical roles count as equality. Neither position matches how Islam actually frames the relationship. Marriage in Islam is a partnership of equals in worth and dignity, with rights and responsibilities distributed on both sides so that the home functions in balance rather than competition.
"And they (women) have rights similar to those (of men) over them in kindness."
